From summer evening weekends at Eszterh\u00e1za<\/strong> through the programmes of the internationally significant 4th Haydneum Eszterh\u00e1za Festival<\/strong> to the autumn and winter concerts at the Liszt Academy<\/strong>, the season\u2019s offerings include chamber music evenings, a concert performance of an opera, cantatas, and symphonic works alike. Compositions by Bach, Haydn, Mozart, Schubert, and other leading composers of the period will once again be performed on period instruments by outstanding Hungarian and international specialists in historically informed performance.<\/p>\n\n

Over four summer weekends, from 10 July to 1 August, the Haydneum Concerts at Eszterh\u00e1za<\/strong> series will fill the stunning Apollo Hall of the Esterh\u00e1zy Palace in Fert\u0151d with atmospheric concerts every Friday and Saturday evening. Alongside programmes of exceptional variety, distinguished representatives of Hungarian early music life will appear, including Capella Savaria<\/strong>, Ensemble Variabile<\/strong>, and the Orfeo Orchestra<\/strong> conducted by Gy\u00f6rgy Vashegyi<\/strong>. Audiences will also have the opportunity to admire solo performances by R\u00f3za Bene<\/strong>, Andrea Bertalan<\/strong>, M\u00e1rton Bors\u00e1nyi<\/strong>, L\u00e1szl\u00f3 Gerh\u00e1t<\/strong>, D\u00e1niel P\u00e1lk\u00f6vi<\/strong>, Rita Papp<\/strong>, and Petra Somlai<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Between 28 August and 5 September, the Haydneum Eszterh\u00e1za Festival<\/strong> will take place for the fourth time at the historic Eszterh\u00e1za Palace. It has now become a tradition for the opening evening to feature a concert performance of one of Haydn\u2019s operas \u2014 this year, the 1782 Orlando paladino<\/em>, with Cyrille Dubois<\/strong> in the title role. Chamber music will be represented by Petra Somlai<\/strong>\u2019s Schubert recital and a Haydn evening by the Gringolts Quartet<\/strong>, while \u00c1d\u00e1m B\u0151sze<\/strong> will once again lead a thematic music-historical tour. The closing concert, devoted to music by Haydn and his contemporaries, will be conducted by the world-renowned Swiss bass Stephan MacLeod<\/strong>, with fortepianist Olga Pashchenko<\/strong> appearing as soloist.<\/p>\n\n

In autumn and winter, Haydneum\u2019s concerts continue at the Liszt Academy of Music<\/strong>. In October, songs and piano works by Chopin will take centre stage in the chamber concert of Aldona Bartnik<\/strong> and Naruhiko Kawaguchi<\/strong>. In the spirit of Advent anticipation, Bach cantatas will be performed by the Purcell Choir<\/strong> and Orfeo Orchestra<\/strong> conducted by Gy\u00f6rgy Vashegyi<\/strong>, joined by outstanding Hungarian soloists and internationally acclaimed guest artists such as Ella Marshall Smith<\/strong> and Christian Immler<\/strong>. The year will conclude with a concert by Ensemble Variabile<\/strong> featuring chamber works by Mendelssohn, Kalkbrenner, and Brahms.A 20% advance booking discount is available on concert tickets until 17 June.<\/em><\/p>\n\n
