SUMMARY:42nd Early Music Day – Closing Concert
DESCRIPTION:H. SCHÜTZ: Deutsches Magnificat\, SWV 494\nC. P. E. BACH: Symphony in B minor\, Wq 182-5\nJ. S. BACH: Es erhub sich ein Streit\, BWV 19\n—\nJ. S. BACH: Violin Concerto in D minor – 3rd movement\, BWV1052R\nJ. S. BACH: Magnificat in D\, BWV 243 \n  \nThis year’s Early Music Days offers a truly special program: not only will there be Baroque music\, but Classical and Romantic works as well\, and the composers represent a wide range of nationalities. What’s more\, at this year’s closing concert\, a Japanese violinist\, Shunske Sato\, will take the podium as conductor. \nShunske Sato is a versatile musician. As a violinist\, he is equally at home performing as a soloist and leading ensembles\, whether playing a Baroque or a modern violin. As a conductor\, he works with both instrumental and vocal ensembles. \nShunske Sato draws inspiration from the principles of historically informed performance practice in every musical era; for him\, the framework of the past is essential to bringing music to life in the present. He is particularly active in exploring the latest research on 19th-century performance practice\, and he regularly gives lectures and masterclasses on the subject. \n\nOrganiser: Filharmónia Hungary\nCo-operating partner: Haydneum
